Description

Watercolor on what I believe is bone

as I often do

Plus a great Spencerian calligraphy drawing of a bird announcing Duodecimals

Just two rows of old iron teeth here

quite a heartening and  satisfying thing

Fine Antique Cut and Spatter Painted Paper Star antique green paint Watercolor on what I believeOne of a few paper cuts and paper weavings found in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago, just about the most charming I've seen. The orange paper used for this finely cut star within a star appears to have been spatter painted with black (which I recently learned was often done by blowing through a glass tube, like a straw, a technique often used in watercolor theorems.) A very lovely thing, 19th c., most worthy of a good frame. Approx. 4 1 4" tall and wide.
