This is a very nice example of a WWII Issue Carry Case for the M1 Carbine, officially known as the "United States Carbine, Caliber . 30, M1." This case was intended for transporting the rifle easily when in non combat areas, keeping it free from dirt and wear. This example is maker marked under the top flap: SHANE MFG. CO. 1944. It also has a written marking "S. F. C. Storage". This example is made of OD Green #7
