SOLD Antique Oil on Wood Panel Painting of Forest with Boater and Fallen Trees brass elephant and in very good conditionNothing I love more than an old oil painting on wood panel, and I've got a particular penchant for folk art paintings featuring fallen trees here two that read almost like railroad tracks crossing the waterfall on the diagonal, giving this bucolic landscape a bit of an edge and amplifying the sense of nature as a vastly more powerful force than our little rowing boater at left or the tiny flying ducks at bottom right. And, over time, the texture of
