It is made of two pieces: the body and the slide. The slide is replaceable when worn. The 2 piece construction also means the chain does not have to be disassembled when mounting the guide or replacing the slide. The controlled elasticity construction of the guide absorbs shock and minimizes damage to the chain and sprocket; it also reduces oscillatory
