This is a late Victorian Era British Pattern of 1888 bayonet, made originally to fit the Magazine LeeMetford (MLM) rifle, first introduced in 1888. The bayonet has been cut down and sharpened for use as a fighting knife, most likely during World War II given the construction of the sheath.
