Beautiful Old Bentwood Bowl (Formerly a Basket) Art Deco decor I'm not quite sure why

I'm not quite sure why it is that old pull toys appeal to me so much

because I can't resist them and because each set I come across is a little different

from what I understand is actually an old nail rake

I also like that it can be displayed sitting up

and perhaps replaying comments--real or imagined

Beautiful Old Bentwood Bowl (Formerly a Basket) Art Deco decor I'm not quite sure whyIt took me a little help to figure it out, but surely this bowl was once a basket there is a one remaining piece of the handle on the interior of one side, cut cleanly to the height of the bowl, and two nail holes visible on the opposite side, where the handle would have ended. I find it very beautiful in its current state though, with the angled grain of the wood where the end lap perfectly complementing the outwardly angling form of the bowl. I
