Wonderful Antique Handpainted Treen Pencil Shaped Pencil Box (With Early Pencil, As Found) folk art phone Each measures 10 1/8" xI love an old pencil box and really love this one, 19th century I believe, found in Maine and with a very old pencil found inside of it. This is much better in hand, with the paint decorated body of the turned wooden pencil box just gorgeous, a swirly mix of white and blue and brown, and some gold paint gilding still hanging on to the end cap. And the shape of its tip, with squared end, really completes it for me. It looks perhaps like there is an
