Original U.S. WWII M1917A1 Kelly Helmet with Textured Paint German Machine Guns Sometime in the late 1860's

Sometime in the late 1860's it was then converted to being one of the first Officer's Revolvers offered as a breech loader

It does not appear to have been repainted

It was one of the many "capping breech loader" firearms that bridged the gap between percussion and cartridge firearms

It definitely was not cleaned properly after the last time it was used

This particular example has some wear in the decades since it was in service

Army M1917A1 "Kelly" Helmet. The helmet is complete with the original liner, and the shell has the original OD green paint mostly intact, including the textured "corked" exterior. It does however look to have been repainted during the war. The cork often would have the paint wear off, which would give it a speckled appearance. The shell is stamped ZC 202 in the steel
