This example was contract made in Belgium, as indicated by the markings on the cross guard: PJ MAHLHERBE A LIGE Located at quay Saint Lonard in Lige, P. J. Malherbe was a well known manufacture of both firearms and edged weapons. The bayonet features the classic ribbed brass handle
