The Fianchetto avoids the main lines that the second movers are comfortable with and aims for a small but safe advantage. Many are afraid to play against the King's Indian because Black can attack the white king, but in the Fianchetto he finds it very difficult to create any attacking chances. Instead the game often takes a positional course, with White having a little
