Germany, Luftwaffe. An Observer Badge, By F.w. Assmann & Söhne GTRexclude before returning to Midway Island(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with dual visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, maker marked with the logo of F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid, measuring 52. 14 mm
