United Kingdom. A No. 70 Squadron (Royal Flying Corps / RAF) Trench Art Vase Hold the mechanisms bearing a maker’sA deeply toned shell with a well worn base making identification difficult, possibly of 1917 manufacture, depicting a period etched Sopwith Camel (B2) with '70 Squadron France' etched below. This exhibits a simplistic scene, common to those pieces done during wartime, not a post war tribute. Shell measures 29 cm, and is a true wartime piece, a great display item and its first time to market, very fine.
