Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger (Heer) respectively, topped by a date of 1940, an inscription of NARVIK, and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs and affixed to a replacement field grey wool backer indicating Heer
