Germany, Heer. An Armoured Officer’s Overseas Field Cap Auction from 1941 to 1946(Heer Schiffchen fr Offiziere der Panzertruppe). A Heer Armoured Officers overseas field cap, constructed of field grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side panels, scalloped at the front. The panels are trimmed across the peak with a length of silver aluminum wire piping, while an additional length of identical piping trims the outer edge of the crown. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a field grey rayon backer
