Faux Mahogany Chest Of Drawers Works of Art H: 77 W: 64 D:A 19th centrury faux mahogany paint decorated chest of drawers. Two short drawers above three graduated long drawers, unusual to have the decorartion to the side panels, raised on tall turned feet. Wales, circa 1860. It was common to paint pine furniture to resemble the expensive and mostly unavailable tropical timbers of the period, much was lost to the dipping tank during the 1980 90s. Height 41in (104cm).
