S. mint didn't have enough silver planchets to keep the new Morgan and Peace series going (they restarted in 2023). To fill the void Fiji (and likely an enterprising US dealer or two) created their own version. The mintages I've seen are relatively low but I haven't seen a hard and fast number yet (5,000ish).
