Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with ribbed arms, the obverse with central initials FF, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the reverse with inscription FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (FOR SERVICE IN WAR), unmarked, measuring 41. 07 mm (w) x 45. 25 mm (h), in near extremely fine
