Mint struck 5,000 Sacagawea dollars for use as payment to Glenna Goodacre, the designer of the obverse of said dollar. Five years later it was discovered that these coins had been struck on specially prepared dies, giving them an obvious to the naked eye prooflike finish. As with our previous offer in a higher grade we have acquired just a handful of this important and scarce variety remaining.
