Constructed of stamped steel; the obverse with a raised pebbled field depicting a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by a laurel wreath with berries that is tied together at the base of the buckle; the reverse plain, with a soldered catch and a standard dual prong spring bar; attached to the spring bar is a light brown leather belt tab marked F. W. Assmann, Ldenscheid and dated 1941 on the obverse;
