Vatican, Papal State. A Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Sylvester, I. Class Grand Cross, c. 1930 Archive A Second War Canadian Medal(Ordo Sancti Silvestri Papae Ordine di San Silvestro Papa). Instituted October 31st, 1841. Consisting of an eight pointed star with five multi faceted quills per arm, the obverse with a white enameled Maltese Cross with rays emanating from the center of the cross in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, with a central blue enameled medallion bearing the bust of St. Sylvester in gilt, surrounded by a broad gilt ring inscribed Sanc. Silvester. P.
