Hesse, Grand Duchy. An Order of Philip the Magnanimous, Type II, Grand Cross Breast Star Newly Listed the latter becoming Strug's stepfather(Orden Philipps des Gromtigen Bruststern zum Grokreuz). Instituted 1 May 1840 by Grand Duke Ludwig II. (1849 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a central blue enameled medallion bearing a leftward facing Gold profile of Philip I, situated within a white enameled ring bearing a Gold inscription of SI DEUS NOBIS CUM QUIS CONTRA NOS (IF GOD IS
