Constructed of silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original tri fold ribbon, consisting of a Ruppert Cross with red enameled arms, the obverse with a central medallion with raised initials FJ circumscribed by stylized motto of VIRIBUS UNITIS (WITH UNITED FORCES), the reverse with an analogous medallion bearing an institution date of 1849, the twelve oclock arm with a crown suspension and loop,
