It's made to be durable with SG2 micro carbide powder steel blade that is protected by 100 layers of steel. The blade goes through an ice hardening process for durability and is hand honed using the 3 step Honbazuke process to a 9. 5 to 12 edge angle. The birch handle has a rounded spine and heel for a comfortable grip. Knife is
