Constructed of silver with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Hohenzollern imperial eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, its head surrounded by a halo bearing a raised inscription of VOM FELS ZUM MEER (FROM THE CLIFFS TO THE SEA), overlaid by a central black and white enameled shield, unmarked, measuring 15. 27 mm (w) x 19. 50 mm (h),
