Constructed of gilt bronze; the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, and an Imperial crown and the top of the badge, with a submarine superimposed on the center of the badge; horizontal pinback, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; an unmarked example, but typical "WALTER SCHOTT Fec." example; measuring 49. 66 mm (w) x 48. 09 mm (h); a worn example, in overall better than very fine condition.
