Austria, Imperial. An Honour Medal for Home Guard Meritorious Service, 40 Years Medal Republic of CANADIANS PInstituted November 26, 1908 by Emperor Franz Joseph I. In bronze, obverse featuring the crowned FJI monogram encircled by a wreath and the inscription CONSTANTIAE ET PATRIAE AMORI, the reverse presents the inscription OCTO LUSTRA, the medal is surmounted by a double headed crowned eagle, measures 34. 8 mm (w) x 50. 6 mm (h), worn on replacement ribbon, minor wear, in better than extremely fine condition.
