Sugar was formed in 1992 by Bob Mould (Hsker D) with bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis. Their 92 debut Copper Blue blends sharp melodic hooks with raw guitar power. Copper Blue is the classic 1992 debut album by Sugar. Front man Bob Mould had sung and played guitar for seminal midwest punks Hsker D, openly acknowledged by the likes of Nirvana and the Pixies as a huge influence.
