It is dated to July 3, 1917 and signed in blue crayon by Deputy Company Leader, Lieutenant of the Reserve Odensass. Footnote: Friedrich Krug was born on December 23, 1887 in Bergen on the island of Rgen, northeast Germany. He joined the Prussian army on August 22, 1914 and was placed in the Replacement Sapper Battalion 2. On December 24, 1914 he was promoted to
